TRIUMPH TR2 RESTORATION
The Adventures of Godot
HISTORY
The history is pretty vague after that but the TR-register had a copy of this advert from Unique Cars of about the 1996 era. The car was resident is South Australia up until after 1995-1996 when it was sold to a guy in Melbourne. The car had been fully restored in 1995 although recent work has indicated that this was not what I consider a restoration but I guess it depends on what it looked like before! The pictures will illustrate my point.
When I purchased the car it had a number of non standard modificattions such as front disc brakes, a Girling diff, a half an alternator conversion (when you fit an alternator to run a narrow fan belt but don't change the crank pulley or water pump). The petrol gauge was non original and tack on indicators had been fitted at some stage.
Since I purchased it I have fitted a hi-torque starter motor, electric fan, changed over the water pump and crank pulley to run the narrow belt and not much else other than maintenance.
This story pretty much starts from here.
